Western Australian Museum, Albany - Kinjarling

Kinjarling, meaning “place of rain” in Albany’s indigenous Menang language, is a permanent exhibition rich in culture of Menang Noongar and Wadjela (non – Aboriginal) histories. Housed within the heritage listed Residency building of the WA Museum’s Albany site, the exhibition shares the Menang Noongar dreaming and creation story of Albany and the greater southern region.

The exhibition moves the visitor through Albany’s story from early indigenous beginnings to European settlement, touching on all of Albany’s significant history, growth and change to its current form today. Highlighting the region’s unique natural beauty, formation and rich biodiversity.
